A Day In the Life of Your Sixth Grade Future
As you find yourself transitioning into sixth grade, first thing you need to know is: you'll survive. You may think you won't, but you will. Another thing is: have a good attitude. Sixth grade is gonna come and go. That doesn't mean you shouldn't take it seriously.Your homework load is going to get slightly heavier, but not too bad. Here are some tips:
In science, if you have Mr. DJ; enjoy the roller coaster project. Seriously. It might be the most fun project of the whole year. For you own good, always have rain boots. Always. In math, always, always redo homework and tests that you aren't happy with. This might be the only time a teacher will let you do it. (I know I'm saying always a lot, but I need to get the point across.) Bring a notebook, too. You'll need it. English class has exercise balls (round chairs). I know, fun, yeah, but they will ruin friendships. It's like the Hunger Games. Either get there early, or stick with chairs. The only day of the whole year I got around chair, was the first day of school. Choose wisely.
Good 'ole social studies. Except you're going to have homework almost everyday. My pointers for you are: bring tons of lined paper, and study. For. Tests. Seriously. Sixth grade really isn't that bad. Actually, thinking about it, it was pretty easy. Still, try hard. Also, use your planner. Don't just think, "Oh, I'll just look at the calendar." Write it down. Teachers forget, and so do you. I can't tell you how many times I have had a friend forget homework because they didn't write it down, and the teacher forgot to put it on the calendar. Planners will save your life, as you probably know.
I'm making this sound worse than it is, but it's better to be relieved than disappointed. So enjoy sixth grade, and try your hardest.
