Some people think sixth grade is hard, but I don't. There are many things you have to do to keep sixth grade fun. Sixth grade helps prepare you for the rest of your career in school. If you stick to this advice, you will have great success in sixth grade.
Homework: To have success in sixth grade you have to DO YOUR HOMEWORK! Some days there will be a lot of homework, and others there won't be any. As long as you use your time wisely, and plan it right, getting your homework done shouldn't be a problem. Make sure your homework is done on time and don't procrastinate!
Tests: We don't get a lot of big tests, but we do have quite a few small quizzes. If you take good notes, and/or use your resources to study you will have a great chance at acing the test. We have a lot of smal vocabulary and spelling quizzes in English, but as long as you study those should be really easy. The only time we have big tests is in social studies, and those are usually open note tests.
iPads: These iPads are pretty easy to get used to. The only thing is, you have to be careful with them when you take them home. Make sure you always charge your iPad, every day! Be careful with siblings around, because bad things can happen if they get your iPad. After a little while, you get used to bringing iPads home and it soon becomes a routine.
Brewery Creek: Going to test water in Brewery Creek is not always the most fun thing to do. Sometimes it's cold, or raining, or even snowing. It is fun to learn the processes of testing water with different methods. Sometimes the weather conditions make testing water miserable. Make sure you have warm clothes in the winter, and rain boots in the spring, you will need them.
Teachers and Classes: The sixth grade teachers are really understanding and nice. In English with Mr. KJ, you will read a lot and write a lot of fun pieces. In math with Mrs. Kiero, it is enjoyable learning about the different math skills. My favorite activity is Hands On Equations; it's a lot of fun. Science with Mr. DJ is a lot of fun because we do a lot of fun projects. In German with Frau Grover, you will learn a lot of German words and phrases.
Your year will be the best it can be if you try your hardest to follow my advice. If you really try, you could have the best year ever! The classes are fun, teachers are nice, and technology makes life simpler. You shouldn't be afraid of sixth grade because you will do just fine. My advice could help you a lot during your sixth grade year.
